It’s only just become spring last week, but since the wineries are open for tasting, off we went. We were staying in Summerland, so we decided to start at a favourite – Thornhaven. On the way there, we saw the Kettle Valley steam train in passing…
Thornhaven Winery
Before enjoying some wine, we went on a walk with Lucy around the mountain to stretch our legs and work up a thirst.
As usual, their wines were delicious. We ended up stocking up on Sheena’s favourite Pinot Noir, along with two whites for the soon-to-arrive patio season. One of the whites is named Brooklyn’s Blend, which seems apropos this year especially.
We attempted to make it to another winery but it was, alas, closed. That evening, we relaxed at the Summerland resort hotel, joined by our friends Lindsey and Mike (and Jasper). Lucy showed her appreciation for the walk by promptly falling asleep on Sheena.
We then went out and had an excellent dinner, after which I braved the cool lake breezes and took some long-exposure photos of the lake.
